Let it Be...

They are not the best seats, but was surprised this morning to learn she had a beautiful "golden" ticket to see her life love of music, Sir Paul McCartney...

Think I will cry? Officially will be the greatest musical act she will ever seen...even if squinting...(sorry Brian May, you are my favorite guitarist and of course, man)...

THANK YOU GOD FOR THE LAST GREAT BEATLE!

More pep in my step....

Life hasn't been easy...but what better way to relax and enjoy the day than new shoes with J.Crew's LOVELY 30% off sale! So this lovely morning I blog to you from my new room, and great view of the raining mountains and city, awaiting these fabulous beauties (of course, the pumps are in black, but I couldn't find a picture!)...

I flew the coup...only to return....

Life has been beyond stressful (as I mentioned earlier), and the need to re-organize life and priorities has landed this preppy Lula Mae back at her parents home, with a new and improved room. The coup isn't so bad ;) Anyway, for those of you whom I keep in close contact, shoot me an e-mail, as my addy has changed. And except more frequent posts, it is FUN to take a bath, lay in bed, and blog ;) with my city and mountain views...

Bucket List...

I watched the movie a while back, and cried and cried and cried. I thought of all the people I have lost, who didn't get to fulfill all of their dreams. I think of my cousin, who having just got engaged, died in her early 20s, or my friend and HS golf teammate, who lost her life (along with her fathers) on Memorial Day also due to drunk drivers. And just when I think age impacts the bucket list, I think of my grandparents. Who never really got to see the world...and enjoy it in the way they deserved...

So, here is my bucket list (most were written earlier in 2007 and 2008):

Go to Rome and dance by the Trevi fountain at night, by myself.
Buy Mom a horse
Take Scott to Mesopotamia to learn that the White Huns are not really white.
Go to Russia and have Piroshki’s and a drink for Baba (and see our old house)
Play one more round of golf, at De Laveaga, by myself.
Have Christmas in NYC while staying in a fancy hotel like the Waldorf or Plaza
Take the Orient Express
Climb the Great Wall of China
Go to Alaska and sit on a glacier...enjoy the Northern Lights...
Stay in the Château in Whistler during the snow...
Spend the night in Disneyland...
Go to the Olympics and watch ice skating...and cry while remembering my youth.
Run a marathon for Cancer.
Have at least one child, who grows up, and loves me at least half as much as I love my mom...
Buy a little house and put Pa and Baba’s old door on it. I may cry everytime I open it, but it was home for 21+ years for me, and 50+ for my mom...
See Mom and Dad buy a house they actually love.
Travel to Cairo...and explore the Pyramids.
Watch Scott graduate from UCLA...and marry a girl better than me, and have wonderful kids...

I'm back...but not for long!

Sorry my dear friends...I have been MIA. I should update you a bit on my life...first, I got ill...and was sidelined for two weeks. I then went to England, and now am preparing to depart tomorrow for a week in Miami, and Dominica...all the while packing up by little oasis condo and moving back home with the parents (long story, and I promise to share more later).

My job is going well, and I look forward to my perk of the free-trip to a mini-beach oasis...and I have been blessed to have great friends and family supporting me during this stressful time (so stressful in fact that I haven't been to J.Crew in a while...heck, my credit card probably is thanking me).

I had a great Valentine's Day...complete with an adorable Tiffany & Co Elsa Peretti bracelet...and have had a bunch of fun with friends recently...and even got an adorable card from our dearest Teddi of JGIWC!

I promise to post WHILE in Miami and Dominica, but they won't be frequent. And here are some pics of England as well as a link to my NEW BLOG (WITH A NEW FANTASTIC DESIGN!) which has a FULL POST ON MY TRAVELS!

Long Live the Queen...

I haven't yet posted about my trip to London and Cambridge, as I got back late last night...but this morning I read the awful news that one of my favorite designers, Lee McQueen (of Alexander McQueen) died in London at the age of 40...
